Rubens 'hoping' for strong performance at 'Ring.
Posted: 01 May 06 10:41 AM (N/A)

From crash.net :

Honda's Rubens Barrichello is hopeful that he can put in a strong performance at the Nurburgring next weekend.

Barrichello seemed to find some pace at Imola and was right up there with his team-mate, Jenson Button in qualifying. However in the race neither shone in the RA106 and Rubens eventually finished a disappointing tenth, after fuel rig problems and issues with the rear tyres locking.

"I always enjoy going to the Nürburgring, particularly as it is one of the tracks where I achieved a win, in 2002," he noted. "It is a challenging circuit for the drivers and has some interesting characteristics like great high-speed corners and interesting undulations. It's normally very cold when we go there so we are expecting all the efforts that we have made on our tyre-warming issues over the last few tests to pay off. We also worked really hard at Silverstone last week on the set-up of the car, and seeing the results, we are hoping for a strong performance at the Nurburgring."

Asked about the Silverstone test in more detail, he added that they have definitely improved things - even if he did have a gearbox problem on the final day, something which meant he did less laps than he would have liked.

Well, being constantly outperformed by Scummi and blaming it on the team hierarchy and now being constantly outperformed (!) by Jenson Button (!!!) with no excuses left, I guess the hope is all that is left for Rubinho.

You can't teach an old dog new tricks and this old dog has been tought to be second !

I have NOT lost my mind — I have it backed up on tape somewhere.

Well atleast now Honda have changed the brakes for him hes suddenly remembered how to  brake....All he needs now is a lesson on how to drive and how to use the excelerator( throttle) and who knows  he might start getting up closer to Buttplug....SAYING THAT he was up by him on the grid last race.....perhaps no one told him he was supposed to drive fast the WHOLE race and not just one lap
