All's not well at Red Bull

Less than two weeks before the 2006 season opener in Bahrain, all is not well at Red Bull.

The Milton Keynes based team, scheduled to have already completed its winter preparations, will 'squeeze in' a final test run at Valencia (Spain) this week.

The team's new 2006 car, 'RB2', is still very unreliable, despite the new bodywork package which addresses a cooling flaw.

But Red Bull team principal Christian Horner is keen to play down the alleged car crisis.

''Christian Klien did a decent lap last week which proves the car has got speed,'' he said. ''The final test in Valencia will give us more track time to smooth out a few rough edges in the overall package.''

In the German 'Auto Motor Und Sport' magazine, however, it is claimed that the RB2 is still yet to collect a single race distance this winter. An analysis of mileage-per-day at tests, moreover, shows that - Super Aguri aside - Red Bull is by far the least reliable on the grid.

Hmmm, what do they mean here by unreliable ? The article says nothing about any specific problems. Normally when you talk about reliability, you mena the engine and it is a Ferrari engine, right ? Even the Ferrari engines that Sauber had in the past were very reliable

Does anybody have more info on this ?

I blame those f***ing Ferrari  load of you know what that they now have powering the car... The cooling  was a problem for the car...but also David Coulthard has  had a trapped nerve problem in his back aswell - certainly not helping...he had to pull out of a test session, only managed a handful of laps..but pain was too bad..

During the interview I saw with David at the Autosport  show  earlier on this year....David was asked about his thoughts of RBR moving engine suppliers to Ferrari engines from the Cosworth.....Ermm  he couldnt understand why they had done this when the Cosworth , not as powerful as the Ferrari engine , only gave them one engine failure during races last year...he couldnt really see why they had changed APART from the fact that one could give engine improvement throughout the  year ...the other couldnt....

Adrian Newey ofcourse has joined RBR from Mclaren ...he cant really have too much impact on the  car this early in the season...but give him time...and then  all the  other cars on the track will  really THINK that RED BULL has given that car  WINGS :o))))

Hmm, maybe it's not that bad at all, racing-live.com now has this :

Red Bull Ferrari satisfied with pace
An engine failure costs track time

Despite a few problems for Red Bull Ferrari today in testing at Valencia, David Coulthard managed to set the second best time of the four cars present, completing 68 laps in the RB2.

The morning went well on this final day of testing prior to the season, with Coulthard running through an aero programme and doing general set-up work.

But it seems now that the new name is official : Red Bull Ferrari ? Was this planned all the way ? I see that for the first time

God I think I  can speak for my friends on the DCM forum - that even the THOUGHT of our guy David driving a car that even LINKS to the name Ferrari is bad enough - knowing that its powered by one of those engines is bad enough - but PLEASE RBR - PLEASE dont  start putting that name in with Red Bull...its going to be  murder !!

Hi all you guys, I've finally made it over into the site.

Have to say I've taken to Steve Ryder on the ITV preview 2006 today, and as expected we didn't hear a lot about RBR, BUT AND I REALLY MEAN THIS we will have to start a petition showing our disapproval if they are going to show the team as Red Bull Ferrari. I thought it was called Red Bull Racing. I have never heard of any contract being signed that said that Futtin Ferrari had to have their name in the title.

I do promise to be nicer in future but that really made me mad
