Former Minardi boss Paul Stoddart, who sold his Formula 1 team to Red Bull last year, has put in an entry for the 2008 world championship. "I've lodged myself an entry as European Minardi F1 team Limited," the aviation entrepreneur told reporters on Tuesday when asked about a possible comeback.
The 11 teams taking part in Sunday's Australian Grand Prix have already submitted their applications and Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone has said there will be room for only 12 in total.
Cool that it seems to become more affordable to enter F1 - too bad the grid is then full. That leaves no room for my favourite team boss, Eddie Jordan
Maybe because now you don't have to pay a deposit of USD 48 million, but only an entry fee of USD 300'000
I think this is cool, but almost too cheap if they only allow 12 teams. Why not allow 25 teams ? 50 cars on the track would be AWESOME !
