Rossi close to F1 decision
Posted: 26 Mar 06 10:47 AM (N/A)

From eurosport.com :

MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi says he wants to decide within the next three months whether to stay on two wheels or switch to Formula One. The Italian's contract with Yamaha runs out at the end of the year and he has tested several times with the Ferrari Formula One team.

"For both teams, I need to decide what I am doing in a short time, I think two or three months," the 27-year-old told the BBC. "Going in F1 will be hard on my private life. Already for me it's over the limit, so to think worse is difficult."

So it seems he is seriously considering this move. I actually thought it was just food for the media.

Well, I really hope the decision he makes is going to be the right one for him - I really like this guy

Does anybody know why going intoF1 will be hard on his private life ?

I have NOT lost my mind — I have it backed up on tape somewhere.

What we face is someone whose at the top of his sport...  F1 NEEDS a character like Rossi...only  problem I would have would be the team he would drive for...but hey its Valentino still isnt it..

As for why it would interfere with his private life - I dont understand that... they must test as often as F1 in MotoGP and they travel all over the world in both series...so I dont understand that...
They did touch on this on Eurosport today ...both commentators said Rossi would need a lot more time in the car to get up to the speed he needs to be  in line with other drivers....but I didnt think he did THAT badly when he did test with others..OK  he went off on his first lap - but come on - so can F1 drivers who have been driving for years..

You know, I actually don't have too much against Ferrari, only three particular current employees !!!

I used to like Ferrari in the past before Brawn, Todt and Scummi came along
