Ok.. we all heard about the questionable wing on the Ferrari ( and Im sure those of you that watched the race will also of seen what most of the teams were talking abou with the flexing of the wing - which as you will know is said to give more speed down the straights and for one reason or another most teams have asked the FIA to look into this and John Todt as said that now Ferrari WILl change the wings 'although they are not breaking any rules' Hmmm and now we have Mclaren AND BMW both making the decision to change theirs.....!! SOOO if these wings give the teams MORE speed and ARE LEGAL as Ferrari's John Todt , and the guys from Mclaren and BMW.... all these changes are coming about cos of Charlie Whiting...- so is this for a 'safety ' reason or are they Illegal??
No one from the FIA will comment...so if its not safety and it IS legal ...whats the reason behind it??

McLaren and BMW Sauber have both confirmed that they will bring revised rear wings to the Australian Grand Prix in response to a request from the FIA.
A controversy blew up at last weekend’s Malaysian Grand Prix over ‘flexible’ front and rear wings being used by Ferrari, which rival teams considered contravened the spirit of the rule outlawing moveable aerodynamic devices.
Eight teams, including McLaren and BMW, planned to protest Ferrari’s cars until they were reassured by FIA technical delegate Charlie Whiting that the regulations would be clarified before Melbourne.
As yet there has been no official statement from the FIA but Whiting has informed the teams concerned that there will be a stricter interpretation of the rules at the next race.
Accordingly, McLaren and BMW have both agreed to modify their rear wings, while insisting that their cars fully complied with the regulations in Malaysia.
“We have received no formal communication from the FIA on this matter,” said a McLaren spokeswoman.
“However, a minor issue with an attachment on a secondary wing came to our attention in Malaysia and this will be rectified for the Australian Grand Prix.”
BMW Sauber has already made the necessary tweaks to its rear wing in response to a verbal request from Whiting.
“No official message has been communicated by the FIA to our team,” said a team spokesman.
“The technical delegate of the FIA verbally informed us that we were supposed to change a certain detail on the rear wing before Melbourne.
“This is not unusual and this minor change has already been performed.
“Jacques Villeneuve’s car was checked after the race in Malaysia and found to conform to the rules.”
Ferrari has insisted that it does not need to change its wings because they conform to the current regulations
Yeah - since when have they done anything to their own disadvantage if they were not forced to ?
