From eurosport.yahoo.com :
Ralf Schumacher is still yet to find a seat for the 2008 season. The 32-year-old reportedly turned to his former BMW colleague Gerhard Berger for a back-up plan but Toro Rosso has now signed Sebastien Bourdais and Sebastian Vettel for 2008.
"Certain promises were not kept," Schumacher, apparently referring to the lost Toro Rosso option, is quoted as saying by Bild newspaper in Germany.
The German and six-time Grand Prix winner is hoping to retain his Toyota seat, but his chances took a knock after a disastrous first half of this year.
His manager Hans Mahr is now working feverishly to rekindle the Toyota option, particularly after Schumacher's form has taken a step in the right direction at recent races.
Mahr revealed: "We have some possibilities, but our priority is still Toyota. This topic will still take some time."
Bild also claims that a return to Williams, where Schumacher drove under BMW power until 2004, is probably unlikely.
The daily newspaper said that, as well as looking to retain Nico Rosberg and Alex Wurz, the Grove based outfit is also interested in Germans Adrian Sutil of Spyker and BMW test driver Timo Glock.
Certain promises were not kept ? What about proving yourself worthy of a racing seat ? Nobody wants to employ an expensive no-good just to keep a promise.
Goodbye, Ralf - Formula One completely without Schumachers. I like the thought
From paddocktalk.com :
A team insider has rubbished reports that Ralf Schumacher might rescue his embattled formula one career next year at Spyker.
It was reported on Monday that, given the buyout of the Dutch outfit by Indian billionaire and Schumacher friend Vijay Mallya, the 32-year-old could wind up at 'Team India' - or whatever the team will be called in 2008 - as a race driver and advisor.
An unnamed 'insider', however, told the German specialist publication Sport Bild that the speculation is wide of the mark.
"Ralf Schumacher is not a topic for us," the insider said.
"Adrian Sutil is set, the second driver is still to be decided -- but it will not be Ralf Schumacher."
Sport Bild did not name its source, but it should be pointed out that, in the Spyker takeover by the Mol family and Mallya consortium, the team management including boss Colin Kolles is expected to be kept in place.
Haha - if not even Spyker wants you then it could be an indication that your days in F1 is over. Face it Ralf - you're history like big brother !
