From eurosport.yahoo.com :
British squad LGT will enter the FIA World Touring Car Championship later this year with a pair of diesel-fuelled Lexus IS220s.
The team, founded earlier this year by former Ferrari Formula One design guru George Ryton and Tim Blake, have built the machines themselves and are aiming to use the final rounds of this year's series as a prelude to a full programme next year.
Blake, the team's commercial director, said: "Our plan is to run the cars towards the end of this season, prior to embarking on a full assault on the championship in 2008.
"We are currently undertaking the official Lexus homologation with the FIA, with many of the car's components, including the proven transmission, having been designed by our innovative in-house team.
"The WTCC is a natural fit for the company to showcase its work. Needless to say, we're eager to get out there and start racing!"
No drivers have yet been named for the project although former British Touring Car race-winners Dan Eaves and Paul O'Neill have been linked.
