From Reuters:
FIA President Max Moseley has spoken about yesterday's hearing, in which the McLaren Mercedes team left without any penalty for the so-called "spying" incident against Ferrari."In weighing up the evidence as presented to us, whilst it was evident that McLaren had access to private Ferrari data, they also have access to Lewis Hamilton. He is obviously the current darling of the media and the paddock, so it would be fiscally unwise for us to impose any sanctions against the team. This would have the negative effect of making people watch Moto GP or something instead, and we don't want that. Private Lear jets ain't free, you know. Of course, had that German chappie still been driving, then the decision would have been completely different, but we say we believe that Formula One is all about progress and, unlike some of our other decisions of the past couple of years, this clearly displays that."Jean Todt was disgusted with the decision. After the hearing he said angrily, "we just cannot see how the FIA can justify this decision. For years we have been getting our own way with them, and we just don't know how to cope with this. It just isn't fair." He then cried like a girl. When asked about what he thought of Todt's comments, McLaren supremo Ron Dennis said "I don't give a toss what that shortarse says, I'm off for a bevvy."Bernie Ecclestone, talking from one of his private Pacific islands (believed to be New Zealand), said "of course, Ferrari have the right to appeal should they so wish. However, it isn't worth the time and effort, since we never reverse a decision if it goes against the best interests of whichever happens to be our cash cow at the time. Have they learnt nothing in the past seven years when they were in that position? Sadly for them, it is now Lewis Hamilton's turn to be in our arse pockets, so Todt will just have to lump it."Alternatively," he continued, "they could get Schumacher to run Ron Dennis off the road on his way to work tomorrow. It's a tactic that they have been happy to employ on more than one occasion in the past."Lewis Hamilton (22) is great and we all love him.
Nev, that one was hilarious - did you write that all by yorself or was it really from Reuters ?
