Well Done Lewis & Get Well Soon Robert
Posted: 11 Jun 07 8:21 PM (N/A)

Well  it was a case of when and not if  - but Britains New golden boy Lewis Hamilton got his maiden win a amost eventful GP...

Highlights for me personally happened right at the start - with Buttplug not even getting away....Davids humour coming through with that team radio conversation we heard -  talk about a  guy having a total nightmare of a drive but still having the  wonderful sarcasim that makes so many of us big fans of his..

Taku overtaking Alonso -  I mean come on  did ANYONE  EVER see that one every happening ..

Then hands up to the  safety we  now have in the modern F1 cars....That most spectacular crash Kubica had and he only  suffered a sprained ankle and concussion.....  Speedy recovery to him - I just hope he doesnt lose his nerve now - and  can get back behind the  wheel again as soon as hes deemed fit enough

Well done to Lewis, maybe the media will shut up about him now.

Glad Kubica is OK and will be back soon.

Most unluckiest man of the race was Mark Webber, he should have got some well deserved points.

Most entertaining race for a long long time... Sad case that accident. There was much luck in there anyway (no extra rolling and slides on top or so on.) Great to see new faces on top and sadly Heikki didn't get chance to get into the podium. Massa was a sore loser.

Now eurosport.yahoo.com has this :

American GP - BMW give Kubica green light for US

Eurosport - Tue, 12 Jun 16:58:00 2007

American GP - Robert Kubica has amazingly been given the all-clear to race in this weekend's US Grand Prix in Indianapolis, just two days after his horrifying crash in Canada.

FORMULA 1 2007 Canadian GP Kubica smash crash accident ouch - 0

The Polish BMW driver discharged himself from hospital on Monday in remarkably good shape, and was able to drive himself away.

A spokesman for his team said: "The doctors here have given him the all-clear to race."

The mandatory 'black box' aboard his destroyed single seater, however, showed a 28G impact at nearly 90 degrees, and Kubica's mild concussion means that Sebastian Vettel or Timo Glock could still be called up to take his place.

And "the peak value [of the impact] would be clearly higher than 28G, given the damage to the chassis," a BMW engineer added. Radio-Canada estimated the actual moment of impact at over 40G.

"In my day, if you had a crash like that, you would be dead, no doubt about it," Niki Lauda, who nearly died in a similar head-on crash back in 1976, said.

The 22-year-old Kubica must complete on Thursday a 25-minute examination by the FIA's doctors, where his reaction time, co-ordination and mental capacities will be compared with a 'control' test that all drivers undergo each season.

He said in a press huddle outside the Sacré-Coeur hospital: "I'm in quite good shape and I'm hoping [to be] going to Indianapolis if the doctors say it is OK."

"Mario Theissen and other team members came to visit me and also thanks to Jarno Trulli who came as well."

Poland's Kubica said he had not yet decided if he wanted to watch replays of the crash. "I saw it when I was in the car," he said.

Way to go, Robert - go get them at Indy !

I have NOT lost my mind — I have it backed up on tape somewhere.
