A superb drive in Bahrian that ONLY ended after the car failed him...we saw David Coulthard do all us DC fans proud and bring home a sickened car in Spain this weekend...his first race finish of the season - but what a way to do it...In the points...What also cant be thrown at us fans is yes there were a lot of retirements but with the exception of Kimi - they were all BEHIND him...A fantastic job by David all round...Hes showing who the 'daddy ' of F1 racing still is....so for all the journalists who said hes passed it now....time to start eating your hat..and take those comments back... We have Monaco coming up...speed isnt the necessity here...and David loves this race - afterall he did get RBR their first podium there last year... WHAT WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE ......is how Lewis Hamilton gets on .....afterall I think he has been unbeaten at Monaco in his previous racing series....
Just dont want another cheating F*****i driver on the track - we got rid of Scummi thankgod...but looks like Scummi has passed on his cheating ways to Massa...I think those Red cars should have a spell of mechanical failures now....alls fair in love and war....Hmm second thoughts is it
Very true. DC def not pased it.
DC: 'I still race as hard as anyone' David Coulthard says his recent performances prove that he has a lot more to offer in Formula 1. The Scot is now the oldest driver in the field and has been at the sport's top level for 13 years. He will start ninth in today's Spanish Grand Prix, having set top five times in practice and achieved the fastest time of all in last week's Barcelona test. Coulthard also starred in the previous race at Sakhir, where he charged from 21st to seventh before a driveshaft failure ended his afternoon. "I think there's a lot of talk right now because I'm the oldest driver in the paddock and (people are) trying to ease me towards the exit, but I don't believe anyone would have raced harder in Bahrain," he told ITV Sport's Steve Rider. "And I didn't just turn it on because I was at the back, that's what I've always done. "I've always been a racer when the opportunity's there. "The car was working well and that's why I could deliver." There has been speculation about Coulthard's future this week after the German press quoted Red Bull boss Dietrich Mateschitz as saying that the team wanted to pair an experienced racer with a young driver in 2008. But in a BBC interview earlier in the weekend, Coulthard said he had no concerns about his situation. "I've met with Dietrich, I know my contractual position, and I know the private conversations I've had with him, so I've got no reason to feel that that's directed at me at all," he said. "I've been in Formula 1 a long time, and the rumour season gets earlier and earlier. "It's an inevitable part of the business. "But my pace in the team in the races has been the better of the two drivers and ultimately that's where you score your points, so I've got no reason to be concerned."
