Ferrari to counter Brawn move
Posted: 10 Apr 07 8:39 PM (N/A)

From eurosport.com :

Ferrari in Brawn warning

Ferrari will move to counter any attempt by Honda to sign up engineering wizard Ross Brawn. The Englishman, who is on sabbatical after leaving the Scuderia at the end of 2006, is considered by many the mastermind behind Michael Schumacher's seven world titles.

After discovering that Honda had spoken to Brawn as part of their attempts to build a competitive car for Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello, Ferrari have said Brawn should talk to them first.

"Ross is obviously a free agent, but we would like to think there is a gentlemen's agreement that he will talk to us before deciding on his future plans," said Ferrari spokesman Luca Colajanni.

Brawn worked with Schumacher at Benneton before joining Ferrari as technical director in 1996.

It is believed he could be offered the job of team principal, currently held by Jean Todt who is also Ferrari's CEO.

Honda have gone backwards in recent seasons, with Button in particular speaking out about the team's lack of progress.

Having come third in the championship in 2004, Button has come nowhere near recapturing that form since, and finished a lowly 12th in Sunday's Malaysian GP.

This is actually hilarious :

Gentleman's agreement ? With Ferrari ? ROTFLMAO

And I just can't believe there is enough money in the world to make Ross Brawn join the season's absolute losers. If he does that then improvement is EXPECTED - there will be no excuses. I think he would rather go to Super Aguri

I have NOT lost my mind — I have it backed up on tape somewhere.
