Luca di Montezemolo has vowed to campaign for lower running costs in Formula One.

The Ferrari President expressed concern that necessary budgets at the pinnacle of motor sport have spiralled out of control over the course of the last decade.

"Formula one must find a way to reduce the expenditures," Montezemolo is quoted as saying by the newspaper Corriere della Sera.

"That is the crucial challenge for the future of this sport. "

He said his goal is to turn F1 into a 'source of income' within the next 'three to five years' for Maranello based Ferrari, which last won the championship in 2004.

Corriere della Sera claimed that Ferrari spent in excess of $330m on its F1 programme in 2006.

Hey, I checked this one - you are not fooling me, Luca :

The last 2 years Ferrari didn't manage to win the title in spite of their "all times best" driver so now they want introduce a rule to lower the budgets or whatever. Guess who will be the first to break this rule or agreement ? If all teams would follow the agreement, imagine what an unfair advantage a team could get if they broke the agreement !

But I can't really think of a team who would be asshole enough to break a gentleman's agreement just to try to get the title, can you ? Noooooo, not in Formula 1, right ?

Fuck you, Luca !

I have NOT lost my mind — I have it backed up on tape somewhere.

LoL... nice one... lower costs? I would say that they has not to pay so much for the drivers ;) 35M$ to Kimi and xx$ to Massa. Sato and Monteiro would do that for 1M$. R.Schumi and J. Trulli would do that under 10M$... Why they won't join for the testing restrictions?

Hmmm, actually I thought they joined that agreement this year ?

But of course that doesn't mean that they are going to stick to the agreement

ok... that would be nice. Actually it's maybe reasonable for they to join... last 2 years they haven't got any major advantages for testing more. Otherwise they should test more, cause Kimi is bored to blowing machines. ;) The paradise would turn to hell in seconds.
