Webber possibly puts Hamilton under pressure
Posted: 04 Oct 07 9:13 PM (N/A)

Its being reported today that after Webber being knocked out of the race by a member of the red bull sister team ...stewards are now looking into the way Hamilton was controlling the stream of cars behind the 2nd safety car after his team mate Alonso had crashed out... We all know that the lead driver will back the cars up and then sprint on ....to me personally the way he was controlling the race behind the safety car at the start of the Japanese GP was more risky with Alonso all over the back of him.......

With all the politics and the way the Mclaren/Ferrari saga continued over the last few months and Mclaren already punished for having Ferrari documents was one thing...I can see those who are not enjoying the lifeline Hamilton has brought back to the sport will say if he wins this and that its a false world championship....and ofcourse Alonso is backing Webber in this argument....Personally I think the sooner Alonso stops spitting out his dummy and acknowledges the fact that for the first time hes actually got a team mate who is equally if not better than him is beating him fair and square then a lot of issues will be sorted...

I hope that the stewards dont penalise Hamilton.....Webber was obviously paying attention of what was happening in front but considering Vittel being inexperienced and driving in those conditions ADMITTED he was watching Hamilton and  not Webber...so surely the fault is there..

And yes folks I am still alive... Im so sorry ive not been on here....but being made head chef at work my time off now is so little and now Im off with total exhaustion and the flu.....Was it really this year Freddie I came over to see you LOL...feel like Ive worked a whole year with no day off as it is... and even had a bit of time to get my predictions in this week....AT LEAST !!

That is absolute rubbish - I guess Webber would like to join Ferrari or Half(wit) Scumbag to whine about anything they can find if things don't go their way, like "if you don't succeed, find somebody or something to blame"

Hamilton may have bundles of ability, but at this stage I personally am getting a little tired of the 'everyone is out to get Lewis' and the 'Lewis against the world' angle that so many mainly stories, especially in the British press, seem to be stuck on. The fact is that if Hamilton was Italian, Spanish, Australian or (horror of horrors) French, then we'd be hearing about how the FIA were doing the best to guarantee him the championship, yet as Hamilton is British, every scrape with officialdom that he experiences is written off as nasty foreigners, begrudgery from other teams/drivers and racism. Yet by my count, there have been four instances this season in which Hamilton has benefitted from official decisions. They were, in no particular order: 1) Hamilton obstructs Alonso in qualifying(despite team orders to let Alonso pass), then Alonso gets his revenge at the final pitstop in qualifying, Alonso gets punished 5 places on the grid, Hamilton avoids punishment! 2) Hamilton crashes into a gravel trap at the European Grand Prix along with 3 other cars, the other drivers get out, Hamilton stays in his car and gets them to lift him back out on the track and finishes the race(though he didn score any points). The FIA backs his actions, so getting the marshals to use lifting equipment to get an undamaged car out of the gravel and back into the race is now okay! Despite, according to The Times, Lewis having been told by marshals to get out of the car. 3) The Ferrari technical manuals in possession of McLaren. The team are found guilty and are punished, but Hamilton(and Alonso) face no punishment for driving the car produced by the team possessing these manuals. Its a bit like the Olympic showjumping a few years ago, except in that case, the winning horse failed a drug test, so the rider lost the gold medal. How can the car manufacturer be guilty, but the drivers(riders) face no penalty for using their cars ? 4) Now the latest incident with Webber and again, Hamilton is cleared. If Hamilton doesn't win this year(and with Alonso, Raikkonen and Massa having been disadvantaged by various official decisions, why wouldn't he), then he never will. You can only use your youth, lack of F1 experience and racial background, so often, before it begins to wear thin and by next year he may have to accept responsibility for his actions, as he is unlikely to enjoy such favourable treatment again

I am not quite sure what you are aiming at and I agree with most of your post, but I still don't think it was Hamilton's fault that Vettel crashed into Webber

It's at least indirectly his fault. Vettel would have never crashed into Webber if Hamilton wasn't driving like a ferret on PCP behind the safety car... both times it was out. The only reason he got off the hook is the FIA doesn't want to be accused of manipulating the championship (probably because of what happened to Jean-Marie Balestre after Senna accused him of doing just that), which is what they're doing by letting Hamilton get away with something that I think deserves punishment.
