Ive decided if I was an animal I would either of been put into a home for badly treated animals OR I would of been put down...
Thought I was getting back on top of things for 5 mins literally...then came down with a cold which didnt come out as a cold ..knocked me off my feet and Tuesday went to the Drs and said I had inflammed Sinus on the one side of my face due to the Neuralgia I had now got.....Talk abuot pain ...its been so immense literally enough to drive me to tears....been taking pain killers for that and last night was the first night I actually slept all night without waking in agony//PLUS Ive still been having to work .. PLUS sort out a Mothers Day menu and cos its next weekend I had booked a couple of days off just to try and get myself sorted and one of those days has been taken off me now cos Im needed in to sort out the desserts for Mothers day..
Saturday night Im running kitchen on one of our busiest days and thats after HOPEFULLY watching quali live ( not even had chance to see if and when quali is being shown...) then Sunday Ive got to work... Ive run out of slave labour jokes at the moment...sense of humour is at an all time low and Freddie knows what a wacky humour I can have when Im on good form....humour has gone... Im now beyond exhaustion...and now Ive also found out where I work they are selling the lease....Do the new people take on new staff or keep existing ones? who knows///Will I have more responsibility who knows BUT if I DO stay on and have more then atleast I can allocate some of my work load out....just had a busy lunch and back in again shortly... what ever profession you pick in life DONT make it a chef...you dont have a life outside a kitchen .....Hmm saying that I had better shoot off as Im cooking dinner here at the moment ...
Wish me luck guys
Karen, sorry to hear about your illness.
But about your job - I wouldn't worry about losing it, so long as you are doing well at it. If the pub is doing well, the new leaseholder won't want to waste his/her time and money interviewing for new staff unnecessarily. They will want to keep the staff who know the pub and the customers. The worst that can happen is that they may decide to change the range of food available, but they can only do that with the brewery's say so.
Incidentally, is the lease already been taken? It's just that Missy is looking for a pub to run (she has her NCPLH), so if not she may be interested. And if she takes over, I will guarantee your job is safe, and that you won't have to work whenever there is a race on!!![EMO]bigsmile.gif[/EMO]
Lease is still up but to be honest ...their attitude towards punters is lousy so a lot of drinking trade has gone ..BUT can be brought back with no problems... THEN you get to the money they require with only 7 years of the lease left...in all honesty they are looking for about £50,000 OVER the top of what most people think its worth.
As for the food side the brewery have no say over that...but personally I cant wait to get the menu changed in so many areas...but its got the point where IM being totally run into the ground...a LOT of personal emotional stress and working all the time AND not being well....something has to break at some point and I get the feeling it will be me before the pub itself breaks
